So with 60% of the vote in, it looks like Prop 8 will pass. What has this taught me?|
1. The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) have a lot in common.
a. Both are hate groups. Like Al-Qaeda they want to force their views on others and force others to live by their religion.
b. Both are groups of child molesters. The Catholic priests do it and the Church protects them. The Mormons "marry" underage girls. Either way they end up having sex with children.
2. "Yes we can...but not so fast there, faggot." While Obama did mention gays in his acceptance speech it won't change the fact that he said he's against gay marriage and while he said he was against Prop 8 the Yes on 8 folks used his words to further their cause.
3. The only ethnic group that consistently voted for 8 were African Americans. 69% in fact. So while that doesn't change my opinion of African Americans (Jason, Fred, Carl, I still love ya...) it does change my opinion of their civil rights movement. Or, in other words, the NAACP can blow me.
So what can we do now? Nothing I suppose. We lost. Here's what I suggest you do:
Talk to the Mormons. Tell them how you feel. You can talk to a missionary here: http://www.mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/ask-a-question/chat-live
I told "Debbie" that I think the LDS are a hate group. I made it clear that based on what I was taught Jesus would hate her.
Talk to the Roman Catholic Church. Your local diocese has a website. Talk to them via that.
My goal is to make these bigots feel some of the pain they are causing and perhaps in that they will feel shame for their actions. It also gets that anger out. And that always feels good....
